We will hike the beginning portion of the Escarpment Trail that skirts
the far eastern edge of the Catskills overlooking the Hudson Valley.
Highlights include the view over the Hudson, all along Kaaterskill Clove,
and various places along the trail where many famous paintings by artists
of the Hudson River School of American painting were done from. We will
pass the site of the old Catskill Mountain House hotel that burned down
in the 70's. We will also pass a nice waterfall along the Mary's Glen
Trail as we return to the cars. There is an option for a short hike afterwards
to Kaaterskill Falls, the highest in New York.

The bridge is still out so we are counting on
low water or it will be exciting.
